The Azure Cosmos DB Agent Kit gives compatible AI coding assistants task-specific guidance for data modeling, partition keys, queries, and SDK usage. The kit follows the Agent Skills format and is available in the Agent Kit repository.
Use the following guides to understand the kit, install it for your assistant, and validate its recommendations.
Agent Kit documentation
Choose the guide that matches your task:
| Guide | What you learn |
|---|---|
| Agent Kit overview | Understand what the kit provides, try a quick start, and distinguish skills from MCP capabilities. |
| Install and verify the Agent Kit | Choose an installation method, verify skill discovery, and troubleshoot setup. |
| Use Agent Kit task recipes | Supply the right context for partition-key, query, and SDK reviews, then validate the recommendations. |
| Supported AI coding assistants | Compare installation paths and understand host and context-loading requirements. |
Use the documentation with your AI assistant
Each guide includes a Markdown link and article-specific prompts for ChatGPT and Claude. You can also connect your assistant to Microsoft Learn to retrieve current official documentation through MCP.
Installing skills or connecting to Learn doesn't, by itself, authenticate your assistant to an Azure account or grant database access. Review generated code, test recommendations in your environment, and measure performance before claiming an improvement.
